Duende Flamenco

Duende Flamenco is a full scale flamenco troupe based in Orange County whose members have been performing together for 12 years.

The group has traveled to Spain, and continues to develop their unique style, bringing passion, diversity and beauty to each performance.

James Samimi, guitarist for Duende Flamenco, has been a proud member of Chapman’s Guitar Circle. James, along with guitarist Kenji Bakuya, have 2 CD’s which they have recorded together, currently on the market. The group consist of flamenco dancers: Aida, Michoncita, Victoria Romero, and La Mielita, as well as various dancers who join in performances. Some of the finest cajon players, (percussionists) in the area are also proud members of Duende, including Kazu Nagano, who also dances and El De La Barba, who is also a cantaor (singer) for the group.

Duende Flamenco is a group of versatile and professional musicians and performer that can tailor performances to your needs. Our music for events can include guitar, percussion, singing, and even castanets. Duende provides a unique experience for your event. Flamenco adapts to any occasion, always providing a profound, memorable experience! Their style of traditional as well as modern interpretive flamenco has been featured at UCLA, Casa Romantica Cultural Center, Mission San Juan Capistrano, City of Newport Beach Arts Center, City of Mission Viejo, City of Fontana, City of San Clemente, City of Orange, and countless other venues. They have been performing at Tapas Flavors of Spain – Orange County’s only flamenco tablao, (intimate stage show) for over 10 years. They hold the record for the most continuous performances of any flamenco group in Orange County over the last 12 years.
